Cloud Workers and Pay… Should Something Be Done?

This has very much been in the news lately and as an administrator of the CMB site I would like to know what people think.  It has recently been brought to my attention that there may be some that do not agree when it comes to cloud working, pay and the choices we have.  We have, in the past, had reporters, attorneys and other non mturk individuals join the CMB site in hopes of making a story, case or other claim about mturk and its wages.  Because forums, for the most part, are an anonymous way for people to communicate we cannot stop non-mturk people from joining.  For this reason I am making this post so that everyone (if they want to) can give their side of the story when it comes to mturk, wages and work.

Is the online cloud working community a sweatshop when it comes to wages and work?  Do you feel that there should be changes made?  Is it possible to earn a living wage while doing cloud work?  Should there be a class action lawsuit against any of requesters on mturk or other cloud working entities?

Please note that there have been reporters, attorneys and non cloud working individuals here in the past and will probably continue to be so in the future.  It is because of this that I ask you to choose your words wisely and please make sure that what you write are your true feelings as they may affect the cloud working platform in the future.  I have also posted this on the CMB website so you can post there if you so choose.

Thanks,
Shell
